Checking Your Phone’s Spam Message Settings

Troubleshooting Missing SMS Messages From Your Clinic

Some phones automatically filter or hide messages from numbers they do not recognise. This is designed to reduce spam, but it can sometimes stop important messages from your medical centre from appearing in your normal messaging inbox.

If you think you may be missing messages from your clinic, please check your phone’s spam or filtered message settings below.

How to check for filtered message on an iPhone:

iPhones can filter messages from unknown numbers into a separate list called Unknown Senders.

To check if message filtering is turned on:

  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap Apps
  3. Tap Messages
  4. Scroll down to Message Filtering
  5. Check whether Filter Unknown Senders is turned on

If this setting is enabled, messages from numbers not saved in your contacts may be moved to a separate folder and you may not receive notifications for them.

To view filtered messages:

  1. Open the Messages app
  2. Tap Filters in the top-left corner
  3. Tap Unknown Senders

You may find messages from your clinic there. To ensure future communication are received, turn off Filter Unknown Senders.

How to check for filtered message on an Android Phone:
