Automatic removal of Care Circle members

Why are Care Circle dependants removed from your account once they become of age

With Vensa, you can add your underage children to your Care Circle, making it easy to manage your family’s health in one place. As children grow up, they gain the right to make their own decisions about their health and who can access their medical information.

Each medical centre follows strict privacy rules to protect patient information. That’s why, once your child is considered old enough, they will be automatically removed from your Care Circle. This typically happens between the ages of 16–18, but the exact age may vary depending on your medical centre’s policy.

You’ll receive a notification in your Vensa account if a Care Circle member is about to be disconnected. Please note that this process is automatic and cannot be stopped by contacting your medical centre — they are unable to override or delay the removal.

What happens after the removal?

When your child is removed from your Care Circle, you’ll no longer be able to view their Health Record or order prescriptions for them. However, you can still book appointments on their behalf.

To gain access to the full online services again, your child can, if they are 16 or older, set up their own Vensa account with their own email address by contacting the medical centre. If you'd like them to be re-connected to your Care Circle, you can request this by submitting a new Care Circle request for them — this will require review from the medical centre and your child’s consent.
